MAKING SENSE OF PRESCHOOLERS

(OR ANYONE WHO ACTS LIKE ONE)

Presented by Genevieve Brabant, MSW, RSW

No one is more susceptible to being misunderstood than the preschooler – especially when adults are trying to rush them out of their untempered nature, inconsiderate relating, or separation problems. Making sense of these wondrous and confusing beings lays a foundation for intuitive and fruitful interaction with them and helps us provide the conditions that are conducive to their transformation.

Participants will learn about the preschooler profile and the developmental solutions required to help them grow up and reach their full potential. A look at their attachment and emotional development will help caregivers identify relationship building practices and ways to support emotional health in their day to day interactions with children in their care.

Genevieve is a Neufeld Institute Faculty Member and a Clinical Social Worker (MSW, RSW) with over 15 years’ experience working as a child and family mental health practitioner (therapist) in the Ottawa area. Visit her website at www.cflerepere.ca
