As part of the PRC management team for over 12 years, first as Operations Manager and now as Director of Programs and Partnerships, Micki has extensive experience supervising and mentoring staff and creating collaborative community partnerships. She has a keen knowledge of PRC’s programs and services, and currently manages 10 staff from PRC’s four different programs.
Micki has been involved in the early years sector in Ottawa for almost 20 years and is an active member on several community committees and networks. She believes engaging and collaborating with community partners and stakeholders helps coordinate and improve services and leverages our strengths as service providers so we can better serve all families. While overseeing program specific budgets and expenses to keep services running smoothly, Micki also supports the Executive Director, by providing ongoing operational oversight and participating in the completion of the yearly budget process, as well as quarterly reports to funders.
Micki has a Bachelors degree from Concordia University with a major in Sociology and minor in Education. She also has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Vanier College, as she began her career as an educator in day care in Montreal. From her time as a day care educator, as well as her role as a Family Support Worker in a Community Health Centre in Ottawa, where she worked directly with vulnerable families involved with the Children’s Aid Society, Micki understands the various needs and barriers faced by marginalized families. She is passionate about offering the most comprehensive and supportive programs and services to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families.
On a personal note, Micki is also the mother to two beautiful children, Jack 11 and Lily 8, whom she loves to spend time with, as she truly believes that an engaged parent can make all the difference in a child’s life. Otherwise, you will find her in the kitchen, chopping and cooking for her family and friends.
