The Parent Resource Centre (PRC) is a not-for-profit charity that helps build confident, resilient families in Ottawa. We provide engaging high-quality programs, a wide variety of social services and supportive resources for children, youth, parents and caregivers in a welcoming environment.

Service Description

EarlyON Child and Family Centre

The PRC’s EarlyON Child and Family Centre offers free, high-quality programs for families and children from birth to 6 years. Join engaging activities, explore our vibrant room full of toys, books, crafts and more that stimulate learning. Meet other parents and speak with our Early Childhood Development Specialists who are available to answer questions about your child’s development and can connect you with other services in the community.

Family Resilience Program

The Family Resilience Program offers all Greater Ottawa parents, caregivers and professionals a trusted resource providing parent coaching, counselling, parenting workshops and professional training related to the wellbeing and development of children aged birth to 18 years.

Circle of Security Parenting Group

The Circle of Security® Parenting™ Group (COS-PG) is an 8-week online group workshop for parents with children aged birth to 18 years. It supports parents to make sense of what their children really want and need. This program is based on many decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. You can learn more about The Circle of Security® here.

In-Home Parenting Support

Reserved for Greater Ottawa area clients who face economic and social barriers, PRC’s Family Resilience Program includes one-on-one In-Home Parenting Support. We have a special interest in supporting vulnerable high-risk families who are experiencing challenges with their children and are looking to access community parenting services.

Our Parent Support Line (PSL) is a free and confidential non-medical service, providing support to parents and caregivers experiencing challenges related to parenting, child development and child behaviour. We also provide support to professionals as they look to match clients with community services and provide referrals.

Professional Resources

The Parent Resource Centre is here to support community childcare professionals and educators with inquiries related to resources and services for their clients with children aged birth to 18 years. We welcome professionals looking to make referrals to PRC’s services as well as to relevant community programs and services.
