Group Support Services Circle of Security

Parent Support Services includes attachment-based group interventions held at the centre.  Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

In-Home Support

The support and content of our In-Home Parent Support Program is similar to that of the group interventions offered by PRC Parent Support Services - however, this specialized service is reserved for clients who face significant economic and social barriers.

Parent Workshops

Throughout the year, the Parent Resource Centre  offers workshops for parents and professionals to build on their parenting skills.  Workshops are promoted both on our Parent Education Calendar and our PRC Event and Workshops page.

Little Picassos

Join us and create a memory!  Little Picasso Paint Events bring parents and children together to create their own masterpieces!  Participants are guided as they use acrylic paints to create their own painting on canvas and learn to articulate themselves through visual expression.

StoryWalk Events

A StoryWalk® is an opportunity for children and families to experience reading a book while walking through a chosen area such as a park, trail or neighborhood. Along with a parent, caregiver or educator, children follow a path from one laminated poster board to the next, each containing one page of a children’s picture book. Some StoryWalks® include collecting items along the way, or a snack or activity related to the story.  At the Parent Resource Centre, for special events, we like to add activity areas at the end of each StoryWalk® to further engage children by using ideas directly from the books to influence free play.
