Meet the PRC Team

Elizabeth Briggs

Liz Briggs is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has over 25 years’ experience working with young children, their families and early years’ professionals in a variety of capacities. Liz is passionate about early learning and believes that all educators, children and their families should have access to high quality and accessible programs and services to help them reach their potential. Her work is guided by the How Does Learning Happen? document as well as current research and best practices.

Liz is a certified Yoga Teacher and has extensive training and experience in mindfulness based practices. Working from a trauma informed lens, Liz weaves mindfulness and emotional regulation tools and resources into her work. In her role at the PRC, Liz has been delivering a variety of workshops and training opportunities for EarlyON professionals in Ottawa. Previous to this, Liz was a teacher at a Headstart program in Ottawa where she helped to implement attachment based practices into all aspects of programming. She has facilitated drop in programs, Parent-Child Mother Goose, provided individual support to parents and caregivers as well as offered a range of parenting groups and workshops.
