Originally from York Region, when Zoe came Ottawa to complete her Masters of Health Sciences at Carleton University, she instantly adored Ottawa for all the greenery, community, and snow it had to offer. Zoe has a research and knowledge background of how maternal wellbeing and socioeconomic factors impact infant and child development, specifically mental health outcomes. Zoe continues to engage in learning to support families who are coping with socioeconomic insecurities, mental heath, and substance use issues, as she completes a graduate certificate in addictions and mental health counselling. After working on the frontlines of Ottawa’s emergency shelter system and with criminalized women and mothers, Zoe brings her fierce advocacy for parents and families to the Parent Resource Centre. Zoe believes that by meeting families where they are at, and by supporting “good enough” parenting, families can discover and use their strengths to grow and support their children.
