Mandy Metcalfe
EarlyON Facilitator
Hailing from a large extended family with 28 first cousins, I discovered my passion for fostering children's learning and development early on. After graduating with a degree in Child and Youth Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2006, I gained experience working with infants and toddlers in child care programs, including the Wee Care Developmental Centre in Halifax and the Youville Centre Child Development Program.
Additionally, I have provided in-home care as a nanny, supported families through quality extended-day programming as a supervisor at the Before-and After-School Program in Manor Park, taught English in Japan, and most recently served as a Family Navigator at Youville Centre, connecting families with valuable resources and services in our city.
As an Early Childhood Educator, my passion lies in building relationships with children and families. While at Youville Centre, I was fortunate to engage in extensive professional development focused on infant and early childhood mental health, brain development, and attachment. Recognizing the importance of supportive, responsive relationships and their significant impact on outcomes for children and families serves as the cornerstone of my professional practice.
I am delighted to join the amazing team at PRC as an EarlyON facilitator. I look forward to meeting families where they are and helping to enhance their capabilities. I am eager to get to know you and support you and your little ones on this journey.
