Dear PRC Family,
We would once again like to provide you with an update as the health pandemic unfolds.
As intervention and containment efforts continue to scale up, many childcare and EarlyON centres are closing along with schools and all city run facilities.
We feel very strongly that PRC follow the City’s lead and close our centre to the general public for at least 2 weeks. We hope to resume our regular playgroups and in-person programming on May 12, 2020, however, we will continue to closely monitor the Covid-19 situation, follow Ottawa Public Health recommendations and update you accordingly.
We understand that these are difficult and unsettling times. In order to continue supporting parents and caregivers, our parent support line (PSL) will continue to be available for parenting issues and support. Additionally, our staff will be monitoring and responding to phone and email messages.
Please visit our web page regularly to see new on-line PRC Zoom offerings, which allow you to connect to the parenting community on-line.
As always, the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, families and community is extremely important to us.
To help manage your child(ren)’s anxiety we encourage parents to stay as positive as possible, provide reassurance and age appropriate information, consider monitoring/limiting media exposure and focus on keeping established routines.

Dear PRC Family,
The health and safety of our clients, staff, volunteers and community is extremely important to us. In order to ensure the best possible outcome as we deal with this health pandemic, we would like to update you on what we are doing to ensure our clients and staff are safe.
1. If you have recently returned from an area where the virus is spreading more rapidly, please self-isolate and do not visit the PRC for at least 2 weeks.
2. PRC has installed hand sanitizers. We now require hand sanitizing on entrance and exit. Tissue boxes have been placed at various locations throughout the centre.
3. Parents, clients, staff, volunteers and children displaying symptoms (fever greater than 38 degrees, cough, feeling/being unwell) will be asked to leave our facility, self-isolate and return when healthy.
4. Our facility is being cleaned and sanitized more thoroughly than usual, with particular attention to highly trafficked areas, common surfaces, and toys.
The Board of Directors and Executive Director are closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and are following the recommendations of Ottawa Public Health, Government of Canada Advisories, and the City of Ottawa.
As of today, our playgroups and programs are still scheduled for the week of (March 16 –19). Should this change, PRC will notify families by Facebook, web site and signage at the centre.
