Power of Play Volunteers Needed

The Parent Resource Centre (PRC) will hold our annual Power of Play event on Saturday June 17, 2023 in Strathcona Park.

Playtime, especially with family, is our priority and is an essential building block of childhood. It allows children to practice what they learn. PRC is thrilled to provide an opportunity to bring families together to connect, explore, and learn in the great outdoors.

We are looking for volunteers to take part in facilitating the play stations and games at our Power of Play event with over 56 positions available.

Community members are all welcome to volunteer and take part in our event to provide children and their families with an entertaining day focused on music, movement, reading, creativity and fun. Volunteers are welcome to choose from the following positions: PRC representatives, set up, take down, sports and board games, arts and crafts, photo ops, music and bubbles and much more. Student volunteers are also welcome, as we can sign community service hour sheets after their shift. Any youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian during their shift. There are half-day (7:30AM – 12:00PM or 12:00PM 4:30PM) and full-day (7:30AM – 4:30PM) shifts available for those that are interested. We will also be providing our volunteers with snacks and drinks throughout the day!

A virtual orientation session is necessary before the event, and volunteers will be provided with the details closer to the event.
