Meet the PRC Team

After living in various parts of Africa, Western Europe, Western and Eastern Canada, Mariama and her family now call Ottawa home. She is an experienced administrator and supporter of families within her community, subscribing deeply to the adage: it takes a village to raise a child. Mariama is a graduate of Dalhousie University School of Social Work and greatly enjoys continuing her learning through a variety of formal and informal opportunities. Mariama is an advocate dedicated to ensuring that all people from all walks of life feel welcome and she is passionate about creating safe spaces for her clients and within her community.

Mariama has great respect for empowerment, narrative, strength-based and client-centered approaches to practice. She provides service to a variety of client groups including individuals, youths, and families. Mariama honours her clients by ensuring they feel confident and free to make decisions and take steps forward in their life plans at their individual pace.
